Full course description
TWO-WEEKEND IN-PERSON COURSE IN SACRAMENTO
This course teaches practical skills to improve household economic security through agile policymaking at the state and local level. Drawing from two distinct eras of dramatic federal policy changes to safety net programs in the last five years, students will learn key lessons for rapidly designing and administering safety net programs in times of crisis, as well as how to monitor and respond to reductions in federal safety net programs in times of austerity.
The course emphasizes the use of data, AI, field-building, and policy entrepreneurship to rapidly meet the needs of communities in times of change.
